Safina TV: Introducing Tajikistan to the WTO

The second TV programme from the “Big Trade” series devoted to Tajikistan’s membership to the World Trade Organization (WTO) was broadcast by the national TV channel “Safina” on November 29 2013. Mr. Mizrobkhon Dekhkonov, chief specialist and WTO Advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Parviz Kamoliddinov, ITC National Consultant on Trade Policy, and other guests of the programme talked about the agricultural sector of Tajikistan, national commitments to the sector and the possible benefits and challenges for the sector from WTO membership. Safina TV is the second biggest TV channel in the country, run by the state and broadcast in Tajik. Its programmes are available via satellite, and reach the whole country via local antennas. The TV programmes are supported by the International Trade Centre under its WTO project on “Policy Advice and Capacity Building” financed by the Government of Switzerland.
