For the seventh time, Tajikistan exhibits its cotton yarn to wide range of international buyers at the International Istanbul Yarn Fair, the second biggest yarn fair in the world, to be held on 14-17 February, 2018 in the Turkish business capital.
Five Tajik spinning companies “HIMA-Textile”, “Nohid”, “RBT Resandai Tojikiston”, “Spitamen Textiles”, and “Vahdat Textile” continue a good tradition of the Tajikistan participation at this leading specialized exhibition. As in previous years, the organization and participation of the Tajik delegation at this fair are made possible thanks to the Government of Switzerland through the International Trade Centre (ITC)’s Global Textiles and Clothing Programme. The representatives of “Business Consulting Group” and “ACT Development Group”, ITC local partners, will be guiding the delegation throughout the fair.
The International Istanbul Yarn Fair acts as a meeting point for about 8,000 visitors from around 80 countries. Named as “the heart of yarn industry in Eurasia”, the exhibition displays different types of yarn, fiber, textile machinery, and much more. Mr. Ardasher Ibragimov, Deputy Director of “Business Consulting Group” believes that “The International Istanbul Yarn Fair is an ideal event for our companies to meet leading textile producers from the region, empower own brands in the regional market, establish new contacts with the manufacturers, suppliers, importers, traders, get acquainted with trends, demands and expectations of the market, as well as to explore new products and innovations”.
The fair is an excellent opportunity for the Tajik spinning companies to show and promote their products to a wide range of buyers (sales agents, wholesalers and retailers) from Turkey and other countries. Tajik participants believe that participation at this fair will open up new opportunities for them. Mr. Mirzokodir Bakoev, Director of “Spitamen Textiles” says, “We have previously participated in this fair and it was very useful and beneficial for us. There is high demand for our product in the region and the fair will give us a good opportunity to establish direct business linkages and partnerships with potential clients, as well as to diversify our orders. We can also gain a lot of useful information about modern equipment and machinery, as well as lab equipment used in the textile industry”.
In order to improve capacities of the Tajik textile and clothing enterprises in product development and marketing, ITC helps companies to prepare for and participate at international trade fairs. ITC believes that participation in international trade fairs provides good opportunities for the project beneficiary companies to be competitive in the regional market through exhibiting their products, meeting potential buyers and establishing new business contacts, obtaining information on new modern machinery, and learning more about global market requirements.
The International Trade Centre, supported by the Government of Switzerland, aims to increase the export competitiveness of the Tajik textile and clothing sector by supporting sector companies, and relevant trade support institutions from both public and private sectors.
This year Switzerland celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Dushanbe. Within the framework of a comprehensive cooperation and development program, Switzerland has supported the people and the government of Tajikistan in reforming the health, water and natural resource management sectors, in increasing access to justice and in facilitating the country’s transition towards a market economy. Switzerland invests approximately 20 Mio USD per year in projects implemented in all parts of Tajikistan.
